Terrye Teverson, Prospective MP for Truro and Falmouth, has been working with groups across the area to improve and update existing play facilities and bring them into line with neighbouring towns.

Parents in Perranporth have started a campaign to clean up their playgrounds so children in the area have safe place to play.

The campaign has been spearheaded by local mum, Emma Manley, who started collected signatures demanding action on the playgrounds after seeing Terrye Teverson's campaign to find out the best and worst play areas across Truro and Falmouth.

Emma explained: "I saw Terrye's campaign in her magazine and thought I would get involved. The parks here in Perranporth are run down and basically neglected. I have a young daughter and there is no way I would let her play using the equipment we currently have in the village."

"I am now collecting signatures from other parents in the area calling for the council to come and repair and update the existing play equipment. I don't think it's too much to ask for children in the area to have a playground which is safe, clean and somewhere that feeds their imagination."

Terrye Teverson, Prospective MP for Truro and Falmouth, has been working with groups across the area to improve and update existing play facilities and bring them into line with neighbouring towns.

"Helston and St Austell have some of the best parks in the UK," Terrye said.

"I have had lots of replies to my playground survey complaining that community playgrounds are not looked after and often become areas for people walking their dogs which is obviously not acceptable."

"I am now working with Emma to collect as many signatures as possible to demand action from the council to make sure children in Perranporth have a decent playground. We are urging as many people in the area to sign up and help us ensure this happens."
