The Tremough branch of Liberal Youth are looking forward to a bumper crop of new student activists and members this year following a highly successful Fresher's Fair at the Tremough campus.

The group received over seventy expressions of interest from new students enquiring about joining the Liberal Democrats, more than four times the number received at last year's fair.

Chair of Tremough Lib Dems Aaron Chahal said: "We had a great day on Sunday and barely got a chance to sit down as we were so busy. I think there is a real feeling of optimism in the air for the Lib Dems. People are genuinely interested in our new Leader Tim Farron and were asking how they can get involved. Hopefully the interest will translate into new members."

Jeff Muir, Chair of Falmouth and Penryn Lib Dems said: "Congratulations to Aaron and his team. The Liberal Youth branch played a significant part in the Falmouth Town Council by-election win over the summer and I think young people generally and students in particular really welcome the opportunity to make a positive difference in our community."
