GOONHAVEN SCHOOLGIRL WINS XMAS CARD COMPETITION

MP Matthew Taylor and Lib Dem PPC Terrye Teverson this week announced 8 year old Danielle Burns as the winner of their constituency wide Christmas card competition.

The Goonhaven Schoolgirl's design beat off other entries from children across the Truro area. Danielle has won 50 personalized cards of her own design to send out to friends and family this Christmas. The design has also been printed and will be used by Matthew Taylor and Terrye Teverson as their official card for 2008.

The announcement was made at the annual Liberal Democrat Christmas Fair held at the Hall for Cornwall on Saturday.

"We received a lot of entries from schools across the area," Mrs. Teverson said.

"The standard was very high and it was hard to make a final decision. We chose Danielle's because it was bright and colourful and stood out from the rest."
