CORNWALL COUNCIL ELECTION - 1 May 2025

Truro and Falmouth Liberal Democrats are delighted to have increased the number of Cornwall Councillors and the party's vote share in the Cornwall Council election on 1 May 2025.

Here in Cornwall, the Lib Dems are pledging to:

  • Back Local Businesses - we will support local business to succeed despite Labour's tax hikes

  • Protect Cornwall's Environment - we will campaign to keep our rivers and coastline free from sewage

  • Create Opportunities for Young People - we will make sure Cornwall's young people get the support they deserve

  • Support Affordable Homes - we will build homes for local families and work to tackle Cornwall's housing crisis

  • Fix Our NHS and Social Care - we will reform social care and support our NHS so people get the care they need, when they need it

  • Build Better Roads and Public Transport - we will improve our roads and public transport services to get Cornwall connected.

Falmouth Lib Dems campaign for direct bus to Treliske Hospital

Falmouth Lib Dems have launched a campaign for a direct bus route from the Town to Treliske hospital. Currently people have to change at Truro to get to their destination.

Local Lib Dem campaigner John Spargo said: “Not only does the Cornwall Day Rider fare cost £8 to get to Treliske, but people have to change in Truro.

"A lot of older or sick people really struggle to change buses. £8 is a lot of money, the least they can do is have the same bus all the way.”

Free To Be Who You Are

As liberals, we believe that true equality is achieved when individuals are not only free from prejudice and discrimination, but also free to fulfil their potential. So fighting for LGBTQ+ rights is not a choice Liberals make.
